I struggled to get through this for a good portion of the book. I mean, I understand the appeal and hype; it's good good messages, road trip, dorky MC, all the things you should find in any popular YA contemporary novel. But it just takes forever to get from point-to-point. And then sometimes it just felt like it took itself too seriously and tried too hard to convey whatever message it was giving at the time. I'll have to read it again one day to try and understand why it's so well-received I guess.
